Carolina Herrera Found a Way to Make Flowers Even Prettier

Florals? For Spring? In the case of Carolina Herrera's Spring 2015 show (that's Autumn for us in Australia), the idea was truly groundbreaking. Not to undermine the great Miranda Priestly, but there was something new to add to the botanical conversation when these poppy, scarlet, and sunshine buds took to the catwalk.
Abstract trees set the tone for Herrera's garden party with a modernity that insisted this was no traditional ladies' lunch. Inspired by the "colour code of a flower," rounded shoulder silhouettes with bold floral prints brought a newness to the label, while Herrera entered the crop-top conversation in the most ladylike way possible (so as not to bare any skin). So, while any of the pieces would be at home in the garden, we imagine the women donning them would dine on something way cooler than finger sandwiches.
